It’s common knowledge that too few of the 400,000 people affected by the Velo South “lycra loop” road closures know that the event is happening, because CSM’s leaflets on this have not been received.
Yet according to John Ridgeon and colleagues from organisers CSM who attended the communications meeting on 26th July, two of the reasons for residents' complaining they have not seen the leaflets are (a) residents are not being truthful (b) residents didn’t bother to read the leaflets. So if you didn’t realise your road was going to be closed for up to nine hours to support CSM’s commercial venture, it’s your fault, apparently.
They also blamed Royal Mail and the colour of the leaflets, but not themselves…
